Do I really need a Life Coach?

I just wanted to spread the word about Life Coaching and what it can do to help just about anyone. No, not every coach is suited for every client but the right coach/client combination is such powerful tool.

I hear different variations of the following questions and statements a lot: “What can a coach do for me?”, “I can’t afford to pay a coach!”, “What does SHE know that I don’t know?”, “I don’t need a stinking’ Coach!” Ok, well I tossed the word “stinking'” in there (smile) but I do know there are many people who could benefit from the power of coaching but feel they don’t need it.

Let me ask you a question? Who is considered one of the greatest golfers of all time? Tiger Woods right? Well guess what, the greatest golfer of all time has a coach! In fact Tiger has had several coaches including Butch Harmon, Hank Haney, Sean Foley and most recently Chris Como. You see even if you are the greatest at what you do, you can always improve on that greatness. Coaching doesn’t always mean that there is something wrong with you, coaching can help you improve on what you are already doing to make you even better.

Hopefully the following can open some eyes to the magic of this wonderful tool called life coaching!

Coaching is an effective process used to support individuals in creating something new for their lives. I work side by side with my clients in coaching by providing perspective and support for self-knowledge as they accomplish their business and personal goals as well as helping them gain clarity on life issues.

I personally help people achieve balance, clarity and cultivate the tools necessary for them to evolve into a life filled with happiness and serenity. I believe everyone has the tools they need inside of themselves to lead a more fulfilling life. I simply guide them along an empowering path that will awaken these tools, focus on their passion and ultimately lead them to a more fulfilled self.

Life coaches are great and act as your personal cheerleader and sometimes can be a mentor. There are many benefits to having a Personal Life Coach and here are just a few. Coaching is a valuable process for people looking to:

* design life intentions that include both your business and personal goals.

* make meaningful personal changes that reduces stress and simplify your life.

* free up energy and other resources to attract what you want for your life now.

* enhance the quality of your communication and relationships

* work through a career or life transition

* achieve better work/life balance

* gain clarity, focus and direction

Coaching is also for those that are successful and growing entrepreneurs, where everything is going really well, and you would just appreciate a neutral sounding board who will give you straight-up honest feedback and on-going support.

Coaching can cover many different areas from sports to business, to life in general and it is essential that you make yourself aware of coaching before you get involved in a single area that you need help in. If you joined a sport in grade school you had a coach explain to you the rules and the best strategy to use to help win the game. In high school you had this same advantage, but once you reach the grown up world you may think you don’t have this advantage anymore. This is not always true, there are coaches out there to help you be the best you possible and this also applies to the business and the sports world as well.

For example Business coaching has become extremely popular and companies are seeing the overall benefits by the results in production from their employees. Over the years companies have realized that using coaches in the business world can make a big difference in their corporation. Coaches in the business world can really help, for example if you are an employee trying to get a head in the company it can give you an advantage over other employees. If you are a supervisor who hires a coach for the employee you may be giving your company an advantage over other companies. Whichever way fits your needs it is a fact coaching can make an impact in the world of industry.

So is life coaching in a specific area of my life right for me?

Just because an offer from a coach sounds good, in reality it may not be the right one for you; therefore you need to be sure and check out all the information given to you before accepting an offer. Don’t accept the first offer that comes to you, check out several choices, compare, and then choose. You are searching for a coach that can offer you the most help in the areas of business, sports or life that you are concerned with, along with someone with a good reputation of proving themselves as an excellent coach.

Accessing the web to look for a coach that would be right for you is probably the best way to find one. You are looking for a coach that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed; after all you do have to pay for their services. You cannot find a coach that will be perfect in every area, but you can come real close by searching online. Keep in mind that hiring a coach that comes as close to what you need, will benefit you the most.

When you have chosen a coach and they have started working for you, they will be able to see things that you may have overlooked or what I like to refer to is seeing the blind spots. Because of this you may have to make some changes that you don’t feel comfortable with or don’t really understand. This is why it is important for you to trust the coach and let them make some changes to improve your business. A great coach will show you what can be accomplished in the future, by making changes now; you may have choices you never knew existed before.

After you have gotten rid of some old habits and found newer better ones to use, you may find that you can accomplish anything you set out to do. Having a good coach will definitely help you to achieve this, even though it may seem hard at first letting another person tell you how to run your business.

Many employees seem to accomplish more if they have a coach assisting them along the way; this is one good reason for an employer to hire a coach. Sometimes the employer may want to hire a coach to help them advance their skills of management even further than they already have. Whatever the reason for hiring a coach, either for the employer or the employee, the company will benefit from the added contribution. If you are employed at a company that does not provide a coach, you can always hire your own to help you improve and advance your career.

After researching and finding the coach you feel is best for your company, you may want to use that same coach for yourself. This is why it may be a good idea to find one that is also qualified in the area of management. You can review a first hand evaluation of the coach’s ability, and know if he can improve your skills, helping you to accomplish your goals. Now that you are aware of the basics of coaching you can now proceed with ease into the are that most interests you.

There really is nothing like coaching. The best way to learn about it is to experience it for yourself! Most coaches will offer a free consultation or a free session to see if coaching is for you.

You have nothing to lose and the world to gain!

What is Hypnosis?

going under hypnosis

Have you ever been driving down the highway and soon realize that you have just gone 2 miles and don’t know how you got there? Well congratulations, you have just been hypnotized. When you get hypnotized you are actually in a meditative and relaxed state of consciousness. Hypnosis is the processes of obtaining a consciousness of focused attention that eliminates or reduces the outside influences to allow the subconscious to obtain new suggestions. Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years and is considered by some to be a mystical subject. Many of those that perform hypnosis like to refer it in this way as it adds power to the sessions. Let’s take a look at what hypnosis is and isn’t. Hopefully by the end of this article you will have a better understanding of the many benefits that come with hypnosis.

Let me first say that while in a hypnotic trance you are always in control of you and your surroundings. You can not be lead to do anything against your will. Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years and is simply a very relaxed state of being. Many times people can be in a relaxed state and be hypnotized not even knowing they are. Much like the highway hypnosis example above, driving the car put you in a very relaxed state to which you lost track of time. There is also common misconception about being hypnotized that leads many people to being afraid of being hypnosis process. The fear that they will lose control or be easily suggested to do something against their will stops them from even attempting hypnosis. There is no danger when being subjected to hypnosis. There are no drugs used. You will not be left or trapped in a trance like state forever. This type of hypnosis is generally for entertainment and heightened by Hollywood movies. It is also known as stage hypnosis and done for parties or high school graduations. The real truth is that you can stop the session any time you want by simply opening your eyes. Coming out of a hypnotic session is much like waking up from a nap.

clock hypnosisThere is a common question that asks “Can everyone be hypnotized?” and the answer to that is yes. With that being said, it is extremely difficult to hypnotize someone under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They have already altered their state with the drug use so it is almost impossible to put someone further under. The other thing that is important to understand is that someone who is adamant that they do not want to be hypnotized will not. Their belief system will not allow them to be.

The goal of hypnosis is to achieve an altered state of consciousness, which then allow new suggestions to enter the subconscious to help change a current thought pattern. The fun part about understanding hypnosis is to understand we go in and out of what is referred to as Normal States of Consciousness (NSC). Under NSC we are aware of the external events that are happening in our lives and we have a knowing of the emotions that lie within us. Hypnosis is what is referred to as an Altered State of Consciousness. During this altered state it is easy for the subconscious to accept new suggestions to help change patterns in ones life.

Hypnotherapy is the actual session and is a way for health care professionals to perform hypnosis on people who are suffering from many different afflictions. Hypnosis can be used for such things as anxiety, weight loss and control, smoking cessation as well as relieving painful body aches and afflictions. Many hypnotherapists have study extensively and performed many hours of sessions before they are actually certified to perform hypnosis on someone for medical purposes. It is always a good idea to have an initial session with a hypnotherapist before embarking on any sessions. This will give you time to get a feel for how they work and you can see if they are a right fit for your particular needs. By relating and feeling comfortable with your therapist you will get the most benefit from the work the two of you do. So what does happen while under hypnosis and can you actually do self hypnosis?

Once you are comfortable with your particular hypnotherapist your next session will go something like this. The therapist will normally go through a series of questions to find out what your current beliefs are around the problem or affliction. Once they recognize the old beliefs and patterns they can then create new words and beliefs that they will use during the hypnosis session. To begin the session the hypnotherapist will provide you with a comfortable environment and get you in a very relaxed position. This is usually done either having you lie down on a couch or sit in a comfortable chair. The hypnotist will take you through some deepening techniques to get you into a very deep, relaxed state in which the subconscious mind is more easily accessed. Once you are in the hypnotic trance, the therapist will introduce new thought patterns to your subconscious. After all the new suggestions have been planted into the subconscious the therapist will begin to awaken you, by slowly bringing you back to your awaken state. Hypnotherapy sessions can be as short as a few minutes or last up to an hour, depending on the needs of the client.

Costs for hypnotherapy sessions will vary between practitioners depending on your current location, the experience of the therapist and the length and nature of the session itself. Make sure to thoroughly check out several different therapists before making your final decision. Don’t allow money to be a major factor in your decision. Make sure you feel comfortable with your therapist before selecting him or her. You can usually obtain a good feeling during the initial free consultation. You can always try self hypnosis at home first to see if it is something that feels good to you. There are many hypnosis videos, hypnosis Mp3 and relaxing guided meditations out there for free that can help you attain that meditative trance like state.
